Biodegradable Pickleballs

Play Hard. Leave Nothing Behind.

The pickleball built for the court and the planet.

The world’s first fully biodegradable professional pickleball — USAPA approved, ASTM D5338 certified, and engineered to disappear in approximately 400 days.

What We Believe

The balls you smash, spin, and drive with — shouldn’t outlive the game. Traditional pickleballs are petroleum-based plastic. They crack, get tossed, and sit in landfills for centuries. We built one that doesn’t.

What We Verify

Every ball, independently certified.

ASTM D5338-15 Certified✓ Verified

Tested under the ASTM Standard Test Method for Determining Aerobic Biodegradation of Plastic Materials Under Controlled Composting Conditions. Confirms our balls biodegrade at thermophilic temperatures with no toxic residue.

USAPA Approved✓ Verified

USA Pickleball Association approved for sanctioned competitive play. Zero performance compromise — same bounce, same flight, same feel as conventional pro balls.

100% Biodegradable Material✓ Verified

Made from Modified Polyethylene (MPE) — engineered to biodegrade in approximately 400 days. No microplastic fragments. No toxic breakdown products.

No PFAS Treatments✓ Verified

Zero “forever chemical” coatings or surface treatments. Traditional sports equipment often uses PFAS for water resistance. Ours doesn’t need it — and never will.

Official Ball — Pickleball World Cup✓ Verified

Selected as the official ball of the Pickleball World Cup. When the world’s best compete, this is the ball they play with.

Regulation Specifications✓ Verified

40 holes, 1.8mm wall thickness, 48–54 hardness rating, 26–27g weight. Every dimension meets official standards for competitive and recreational play.

Sustainable Construction

Not all pickleballs are created equal.

The case

Professional pickleball demands precise flight, consistent bounce, and durability through thousands of strikes. Nothing performs like a purpose-engineered polymer ball.

The problem

Traditional pickleballs are petroleum-based plastic. They crack, wear out, and get thrown away — ending up in landfills where they persist for centuries as microplastic waste.

Our answer

Modified Polyethylene (MPE) delivers pro-level performance while biodegrading in approximately 400 days under composting conditions — certified by ASTM D5338-15(2021).

“Same feel as any pro ball I’ve played with — I didn’t believe it could be biodegradable until I read the test results myself.”
— Verified buyer

Balls that biodegrade.

Our pickleballs are made from Modified Polyethylene (MPE) — a polymer engineered with a biodegradable additive that activates when the ball enters a composting or landfill environment. Microbes break down the molecular structure over approximately 400 days, leaving no microplastic fragments behind.

Same snap off the paddle. Same pop on the court. Built-in exit strategy.

Common Questions

Are biodegradable pickleballs as durable as regular ones?

Yes. Biodegradation only activates in specific environmental conditions — heat, moisture, and microbial activity found in composting environments. On the court, in your bag, or in storage, the ball performs and lasts exactly like a conventional pro ball.

What is ASTM D5338-15 and why does it matter?

ASTM D5338-15(2021) is the gold-standard test method for determining aerobic biodegradation of plastic materials under controlled composting conditions at thermophilic temperatures. It measures the percentage of carbon in the material that converts to carbon dioxide — proving actual biodegradation, not just marketing claims.

Are these approved for competitive play?

Yes. These pickleballs are USAPA (USA Pickleball Association) approved for sanctioned competitive play and were selected as the Official Ball of the Pickleball World Cup.

How does the biodegradation actually work?

Modified Polyethylene (MPE) contains a biodegradable additive embedded in the polymer structure. When exposed to the heat, moisture, and microbial activity present in composting or landfill environments, the additive enables microbes to break down the plastic’s molecular chains. The process takes approximately 400 days and leaves no harmful residue.

Will these biodegrade in my garage or gear bag?

No. Biodegradation requires the specific conditions of a composting or landfill environment — sustained heat, humidity, and microbial activity. Normal storage, play, and handling won’t trigger biodegradation.

Do these contain PFAS or other harmful chemicals?

No. Unlike conventional sports equipment that may use PFAS-based coatings or surface treatments, our pickleballs use no per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances of any kind. The MPE material is engineered to perform without chemical shortcuts.

What packs are available?

Available in packs of 3, 12, 50, 100, and 300. Whether you’re a recreational player or running a facility, we have a quantity that works for you.
