The size chart every soccer parent needs
Youth soccer has three ball sizes, and playing with the wrong one genuinely holds kids back: size 3 for ages 8 and under, size 4 for ages 8–12, and size 5 — the full adult match ball — for 12 and up. A too-big ball is heavier and wider than small legs are built for, which teaches toe-poking instead of proper form. When in doubt, check what size your child's league plays — it's a rule, not a preference.
